Bio

Origin

Entering the Perth rave scene in mid 2006 was sparked partly by the first exposure to the sounds of NL hardcore. My taste for this genre roughly revolved around the rough new school sound of DJs such as Mad Dog, Tommyknocker to the darker tracks from Promo to E-Noid and Negative A. After a year or so of attending events all over Perth this taste had been greatly amplified. I began to find myself wanting to contribute to the harder music scene in Perth. This led me to first producing several tracks (many of which recieved good reviews at the time but remain unfinished for now) and eventually DJing in late 2007.

A few friends taught me the basics of mixing and about 4/5 months later I was playing every day. Eventually I started to play at a few small underground parties around Perth for FORCE Entertainment.

When Sunrise 3 NYE rolled around I played a set in the Teknology Corps arena with Perth's famous DJ Trallor which was an insane night and quite possibly the best NYE I've had for some time. Since then I have continued to play out for FORCE pushing the harder styles ranging from gabber all the way up to speedcore. From that night onwards I became DJ Steak.

Although I prefer to play Terror and Speedcore over other styles, I stay close to the hardcore scene and still push the sound through online radio and together with some of Perth's other brilliant local talent.

What's Next?

A whole lot of parties, late nights, hard distorted kicks ringing in your ears and much more (nothing new really).. also some productions are currently underway.. look out for those coming soon!
